The Alert Manager (AM) automates the detection, classification & resolution of system and application events.

Applications may produce any number of logs, errors and output files. The operating system alone may generate thousands of messages every day. Often, serious production problems may be prevented if alerts are noticed and responded to in time.

AM is designed to solve this common problem. It monitors system elements, reads messages originating from various systems, modules and applications and funnels the information to a single terminal. Message filters assure that only important information is passed to the operator. Critical alerts cannot be ignored; messages will remain posted on the screen until the problem is attended to, acknowledged and given a proper entry by the operator.

VOS Encryptor is a core part of the VOS-Auditor suite of tools. It is a fast, simple, reliable, and transparent solution for all your data encryption needs. This tool features real-time operation capabilities without any application changes, and it meets the latest cryptographic standards.

This tool uses standard encryption algorithms, AES, and encrypts any selected VOS data file. There is NO requirement for any additional hardware, software or application changes!  With a single point of configuration (standard VOS table), this tool offers true simplicity and ease of use. There is practically no learning curve.

Encryptor uses a symmetric encryption where the same key is used to encrypt and decrypt the message. The encryption-decryption software layer is seamlessly integrated with existing Stratus/VOS application to provide data encryption services to existing databases. All this without having to make any changes to the business applications. No source code changes are needed!

DRMS is a software solution that provides reliable, bi-directional real-time data backup and mirroring over existing Stratus networks. At any given time, all critical remote databases are identical to the primary database, which ensures rapid and reliable application recovery. Networked computers mirror each other, providing a flexible, saleable load-balancing solution utilizing the full computing capacity of the hardware at both the primary and remote locations. DRMS replicates sequential, fixed, relative and stream files (including transaction-protected files) as well as, one-way-server-queue and message queues. DRMS dynamically detects and replicates newly created critical files so that no configuration changes are necessary. The internal design of DRMS puts great emphasis on protecting the business application and on preserving the primary computer’s current performance. DRMS is external to the business application and requires absolutely no application or software changes — its operation is completely transparent to the user.

File Integrity Monitor runs periodically. It monitors selected sensitive directories & files and reports any changes made to these files/dirs since it was last executed.

Connect your VOS applications to the open world of TCP/IP servers. SGI is HTTP 1.0 compliant web server. Develop new GUI applications utilizing your existing investment in Stratus applications and expertise. SGI can be used with ANY existing VOS program that uses queues for input/output. SGI enable the execution of any VOS command from the web browser, send command macros to VOS and review the output in the browser.

DBQ is a generic file access system that allows the user to access any VOS files via SQL commands. The user can perform queries, update or delete records or fields and create reports from one or more VOS files, without ANY programming.

The SPS/Performance Monitors address all aspects of system performance: capacity planning, current and historical data reporting, quick on-line troubleshooting and system-level alert handling. SPS monitors help identify which process or application is “killing” the system and resolve potential problems ahead of time to allow more accurate capacity planning.

SPS provides an on-line graphic representation of system’s resource consumption. SPS captures and calculates system utilization data based on configurable combinations of groups, users and processes. The product is user-friendly, its reports and graphs are easy to interpret.

The reporting facility allows the user to examine historical data in On-line Playback Mode and to download report files into spreadsheet applications. SPS also features a system wide Analyze System Server process that reduces the overhead associated with the analyze_system subsystem and allows users to extract periodically and log any set of benchmark values. SPS produces alert signals and automatically executes corrective commands when any of the monitored meters exceed the allowed thresholds.

The SPS/Application Scheduler-Monitoring a complete, integrated package designed to control and monitor all applications running on the system. The Monitor automates all application startups, shutdowns and recovery procedures based on predefined time schedules. SPS allows complete automation of batch cycles and keeps on-line applications up and running at all times. Single-point control of operations at all application levels minimizes risk of human error and prevents production disasters.

The Access Control Manager is designed to control, set and monitor all user access to directories, files and programs. The software allows the system administrator to control VOS ACLs/DCLs lists easily from a single focal point to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to data and enhance system security.

VOS Console is a complete set of practical monitoring tools that will provide your company with a web browser interface to VOS, eliminating security risks associated with users working inside a critical environment.  It’s a secure, read-only interface. It allows access to registered users only and inherits all of VOS’ security, including login-admin and password management. VOS Console also limits users to their own customized, view-only VOS Console, meaning they will not be able to access the module via FTP or Telnet.

VOS SS Proxy provides secure access to any VOS application. It achieves this via providing an SSL/TLS enabled layer. It uses the latest SSL/TLS release provided on VOS platform.  The user app can use self-signed SSL security certificate or a security certificate issued by a trusted certificate authority.
